The objective of the Gujarat Forest Department supported study was to analyse the different value chain stages of Mahua in Gujarat and suggest improvements to ensure better economic returns to the indigenous tribal population dependent on it for their livelihood.

 

The research looked into the regulations governing collection, processing, storage and sale of Mahua flowers, improvements in collection and drying practices and strategies for enhancing value and marketing Mahua-based products to boost the economic well-being of tribal communities.
