The Development Support Agency of Gujarat (DSAG), Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat and GIZ supported project enlisted private sector Vocational Training Centres (VTCs) on a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) to offer skill training programs to enhance employability of marginalised tribal youth by upgrading their existing skill sets and helping them train in new skills.
The Interim and Final Impact assessments covered a wide range of quantitative and qualitative metrics of program performance including courses offered, student enrolment and drop-out, number of students trained/placed, improvement in quality of life of tribal families, challenges faced by students during training and employment, industry feedback on placed students, student feedback about VTC training etc.
