Impact Assessment of ‘Roof Top Rain Water Harvesting Structures under Coastal Area Development Program in coastal districts of Gujarat’

The Tata Trusts supported project involved construction of RRWH structures in Gujarat’s coastal districts to meet the drinking and domestic water needs of poor and marginalised communities.

The study measured the impact of RRWHS on households in terms of improved water security and water quality, time saving on water collection, reduction in drudgery of women and adolescent girls, health and hygiene benefits, and associated socio-economic benefits besides highlighting the key enabling factors and challenges for RRWHS adoption.
