The ADB supported project in collaboration with the Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority aimed to achieve liveable, sustainable and resilient urban development as well as ensure that GESI concerns are mainstreamed into project planning and implementation.

 

The consultancy services assessed the status of water supply, sewerage and storm water drainage services in Ahmedabad’s peri-urban areas and the access challenges faced particularly by women and underserved communities. The work also involved a GESI readiness assessment of the urban development authority and urban local bodies in the project area and preparation of a gender analysis report and Gender Action Plan.
